TFCAofGP Spring Invitational - Meet Preview

The boys of Greater Philadelphia are back again. Coatsville is the site of Saturday's Spring Invitational. Some big names are slated to appear. Here's what we're watching for:

Bishop Shanahan's Nate Alleyne is on the entries list for Friday's Whipper Invitational, but he's also scheduled to appear Saturday at Coatesville. Alleyne will be the one to watch in the 100 and 200 meters. In the 200 meters, expect him to be challenged by Saint Joe's Prep's Miles Green, O'Hara's Obinna Iherjirka, and Penn Charter's Chris Tucker.

Green is also entered in the 300 meter hurdles, where he'll be favored over Pennridge's Alex Dimon. Shanahan's Keegan Hughes and Chester's James Jackson are also in that field. Dimon, fresh off a win at CR North last week, is the top seed in the 110 meter hurdles. Hughes, meanwhile, is also entered in the 400 meters, where he'll race Abington's Aaron Sooknanan.

LaSalle's Evan Addison, who won in the rain last week in Virginia, will hope for better weather in the 1600 meters at Coatesville on Saturday. He's the top seed in that event, but the O'Hara duo of Ryan James and Patrick James, along with Pennridge's Matt Eissler and Shanahan's Jonah Hoey are also in the field. The 800 meters has some talent as well. The Saint Joe's Prep duo of Stephen McClellan and Robert Dupell are in a deep field that also includes CB East's Marc Motter, Wissahickon's Cameron Christopher, and Shanahan's Logan Yoquinto. In the 3200 meters, watch for CB South's Matthew Scarpill and Malvern Prep's Peter Borger.

The jumps should create some excitement. In both the triple jump and long jump, two of the state's best---Ahmir Johnson of Wissahickon and Brian Kaufmann of Upper Dublin---will go head-to-head. In the high jump, we should see a good matchup between Lower Merion's James Burton, LaSalle's Alex Sislo, and Chester's Braheem Bishop.

In the shot put, Pennridge's Riley LaRiviere and Griffin McMann are the top seeds. They are also entered in the discus, along with Methacton's Patrick Maloney and Upper Dublin's Sam Lee. LaSalle's Noah Walker will be the one to watch in the javelin.
