Bullis Bulldog Invitational - Meet Recap

A number of teams went to Maryland for the Bullis Bulldog Invitational, one of the state's premiere meets of the season. Some individuals came back to PA with some big performances. MileSplit MD had plenty of coverage from the weekend, so be sure to click the links above.

BOYS' RECAP

Saint Joseph's Prep's Miles Green started his season off on the right foot. Green blasted a huge PA#1 53.76 in the 400 meter hurdles to take the win. Green's PR in the event is 52.81 and he'll be chasing that in the coming weeks. Watch Green's race above.

Some fast times rolled in in the sprints. Harrisburg's Ronald Kent put down the week's best PA time in the 100 meters, running a PA#4 10.84 to take fifth in the finals. Glen Mills' Keon Rantin was seventh in that final in 10.92.

Bishop Shanahan's Nate Alleyne ran 21.93 to take third in the loaded 200 meters. Rantin ran 22.07 to take sixth, while Kent was eighth in 22.31. Alleyne took eighth in the 400 meters, earlier in the day, running a time of 49.67 to put him at PA#4. He was the indoor state champ in the event.

Penn Wood took second in the 4x400 meter relay, running a time of 3:24.75, just off its season best from two days earlier at Knights.

Germantown Academy's Kyle Garland was back on the track after debuting at the Rustin Invitational earlier in the week. Garland went 14.68 to take third in the finals of the 110 meter hurdles. Garland then won the high jump, clearing 6-8 to put him at PA#3 in the young season. In that high jump, Penn Wood's Dennis Manyeah was third, clearing 6-4 and Salisbury's John Reichenbach was fourth at 6-2.

In the shot put, Glen Mills' Quadir Gibson threw 51-2.5 to take third in the shot put. His teammate Semaj Robinson took fifth, throwing 51-0. Robinson also placed fourth in the discus.


GIRLS' RECAP

Harrisburg's Ty'Asia Dansbury took over the state lead in the 200 meters, running a PA#1 24.80 to take third place at Bullis (watch that race above!). She also ran a 57.58 in the 400 meters, where she placed twelfth. Penn Wood's Terri Turner was the fastest PA runner in that field, taking fifth in 56.44 to put her at PA#4.

Perkiomen Valley's Christina Warren had a strong day in Maryland. Warren placed eighth in the finals of the 100 meter hurdles, clocking a time of 14.64, a PA#5. Warren claimed a win in the triple jump, leaping 38-5.25 and she now sits at PA#2 there.

Penn Wood showed of some of its depth in the 800 meters. Kyra Carroll and Isabelle Mobley finished third and fourth in the two-lapper, both breaking what was the previous meet record. Carroll clocked in at 2:17.11 and Mobley was timed at 2:17.41.

Penn Wood then ran 3:52.65 in the 4x400 meter relay to place third overall. Harrisburg was eleventh in the 4x100 meter relay, running 50.75.
