Knights Invitational - Meet Recap

Plenty of big-time performances went down this past Thursday at North Penn in Lansdale for the boys-only invite.

Hatboro-Horsham's Nick Marino just keeps getting better. The senior cleared 16-1 in the pole vault, setting a new PR and PA#1. Marino, who cleared 16-0 to win the indoor state championship, is creeping towards the state record of 16-6, which he has said is a major goal of his.

One of the best events of the day was easily the stacked 800 meters. The times were flying as CB West's Jake Claricurzio took home the win in 1:53.83, a new PA#2. Quakertown's Hudson Delisle was second in a PA#3 1:54.05. Penn Wood's Dennis Manyeah (1:55.68), CB West's Brian Baker (1:56.08), and North Penn's Daniel Santiago (1:56.44) all went sub-1:57.

LaSalle's Noah Walker had an incredible day in the throws. Most impressive was his 186-10 in the javelin, which is a nice PR and a PA#4. He threw 151-5 in the discus for the win, as well as 51-0.5 to win the shot put, making him a triple winner on the day.

Manyeah also competed in the high jump, taking first with a jump of 6-6. Saint Joseph's Prep's Isaiah Ritchie jumped a PA#8 22-2.25 in the long jump to take the win.

In a good battle in the 4x400 meter relay, Abington was first across in 3:23.05, while current PA#1s North Penn were second and Penn Wood was third.

West Chester Henderson's Spencer Smucker was first in the 1600 meters in a time of 4:28.30 and North Penn's Brendan O'Toole was second in 4:31.79. O'Toole later ran 9:55.91 later to win the 3200 meters.

CB West's Joe Manetta was impressive in the 300 meter hurdles, winning in 40.88.
