Pine Grove Area Invitational - Meet Recap

Christina Difalco of Pine Grove Area started the day off with an impressive personal best time of 10:50.60 in the 3200m. Her time now ranks #2 in the state in this event.  She came back later in the day to win the 1600m in 5:16.59. Difalco took 2nd last fall at States in cross country, so she clearly has the endurance for the distance events on the track. She will certainly be one to watch during this year's championships.

The 400m was won by McKayla Lally of Pine Grove Area in 58.73. She was followed closely by Abby Schoffstall of Minersville running 59.21.

Kayla Merkel of Hazleton Area had a great day in Javelin, throwing 138 feet even for the win. This throw now ranks her among the top ten in the state in this event.

Also in the throws, Alyssa Lahr of Shamokin Area won the shot put in 37 ft. 3 in. and the discuss with a throw of 101 ft 10 inches.

Pine Grove Area's Maddie Frew had a good day on her home track winning both 300m and 100m hurdles and the triple jump. In the triple she had an impressive jump of 35 ft. 3 in.

In the long jump, Trisha Billings of Palmerton Area  jumped 16 ft.  6.5 inches to win the meet.

In the boys 1600m, Garrett Baublitz of Juniata won with a nice time of 4:25.91.  

Senior Caleb Jemmott of Shamokin Area won the 300m hurdles in 41.72.
