AAA Girls' Triple Jump Preview
The top seed going into the weekend is PA #1 Ayanna Burrell of Stroudsburg. She had a huge personal best this past weekend in the triple, jumping an incredible 40-2 to win the District 11 title.
Indoor state champion and talented long jumper, Madison Langley-Walker of Upper Dublin will also be in contention for gold. Langley-Walker proved she can jump over 40 feet in indoor; will she do it again this weekend? Burrell and Langley-Walker were fourth and fifth last year at outdoor states and will surely battle again this year.
Christina Warren of Perkiomen Valley beat Langley-Walker for the District 1 title last weekend with a season best jump of 39-9.5. Warren did well at indoor states and will also be a challenger for gold this weekend.
Also in contention for a medal is Evelyn Berecz of Downingtown East who has posted a 39-1 jump this season. Berecz was somewhat of a surprise state champion in the event last season and will look for a repeat performance. Talented sprinter Uche Nwogwugwu of North Penn will also be in the mix looking to add an additional medal to her weekend. She has posted a top jump this season of over 38 feet.
Chyna Beck of Canon-McMillan popped a huge 39-11.50 jump at indoor states this winter. She emerged then as a star and she still has the potential to pop another big jump this weekend.
