AA Girls' Pole Vault Preview
South Williamsport's Katie Jones impressed us all last year vaulting over a foot higher than any other girl in the state. Well over 13 feet, she of course won the state championship last year. In 2017, the senior soared to even greater heights and continues to climb the U.S rankings. This winter, she vaulted an amazing indoor state record of 13-9.25. Last weekend, she vaulted another big height of 13-7 inches, tying her for US#3 on the charts and setting a new outdoor state record. It is not a question whether Jones will win, it is really how high will she go? Do not miss this stellar vaulter finish her high school career this weekend.
Julia Strobel of Wilmington has had a strong senior season as well, jumping 11-9. Also looking for medals will be two girls who have similar personal bests; Loyalsock Township's Hailey Zurich and Towanda's Ally Tama. Freshman Kendall Grossman will also be in the mix at the higher heights.
