AT&T Coaches Hall Of Fame Invitational - Girls Recap

Wilkinson In For Millrose

Last week was an appetizer, and Saturday was the entree for Friends' Central's Gabrielle Wilkinson. The senior and Florida recruit opened with a strong effort last week, but on Saturday at The Armory she came alive, winning the mile and booking a trip to the Millrose Games for what will be the second time in three years.

Wilkinson clocked in 4:56.15 and closing in a 33.56 last 200 meters to beat out Lily Flynn of Ursuline (DE). Wilkinson said her focus will be on February's Millrose Games now after a strong start to her season.

Sprinters/Hurdlers Run Well

It was a strong day for Susquehanna Township. Marjia Allen had another strong day in the short sprint. After winning at Ursinus last week, she made the finals and placed second in a time of 7.37. Jocelynn Burton ran 7.49 in the prelims and also qualified for the finals, where she took fifth. Jada Burton placed fourth in the 400 meters in 1:00.51. The Susquehanna Township 4x200 meter relay then took second place in 1:46.00.

In the 55 meter hurdles, Somerset Area's Elizabeth Close ran a time of 8.76 to take third in the finals. Meaghan Toscano of Germantown Academy took the win in the shot put with a throw of 37-4.
