Pennsylvania Indoor Week 5 Meets On Tap

DVGTCA Meet #3 - Meet Preview

***Preview based on entries as of 10am on Thursday, 1/4***

Friday's DVGTCA meet is a track-only meet with no field events contested. A few big names will make appearances at the season's first girls' meet at Haverford College.

Sydni Townsend of Neumann Goretti has had a very successful start to her season so far, particularly in the 400 meters. But now the reigning outdoor AA state champ in the 300 meter hurdles will return to the hurdles on Friday, contesting the 55 meter hurdles. She will face a difficult test, though, as PA#1 Symone Foster of Exeter will also toe the line. Foster is in the midst of a great season that included a state-leading 9.06 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Burdette Classic.

In the 55 meters, the matchup to watch is between Lower Merion's Aja Davis and Neumann Goretti's Eliza Brooks. Davis enters the meet at PA#3 in the 60 meters, while Brooks is PA#9 in the 55 meters.

We've already seen what Chester's standout freshman Kamani Johns can do in the sprints. Now Johns will move up to the 800 meters on Friday for a nice test in the event. Johns went 58.6 in the 400 meters this past weekend.

Central's Emma Helstrom and Central Bucks West's Julia Flood will be the ones to watch in what should be a competitive mile. The 3,000 meters will also be exciting with Neshaminy's Kaylee McCullough, North Penn's Olivia Dyer and Friends' Central's Lydia Russell all entered.
