Team Breakdown: PIAA District 11 Boys

D11-AAA Boys - Team Breakdown

Easton Area stepped up in a big way last season and ran to the District 11 Class AAA title at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course. That squad went on to take 13th in the state. Easton brings back five of seven from last year's team. Cosmo Cardone, Marco Cardone, Jonathan Miers, and Joseph Ozgar make up a solid group that could very well return to the top of the D11-AAA podium.

Parkland, which took second to Easton at districts and then placed 16th at states, will also be very strong. It brings back all but one from its '17 varsity team. Nicholas Bower and Riley Williamson went 3-4 at districts last year and should be a solid front-running duo this fall. Williamson is the reigning EPC champ.

Stroudsburg loses its top runner from last year (Matt Bodon), but the third place D11-AAA finishers from last year should be strong in 2018. Zachary Landvik-Larsen and Shu-Yu Chen will be a strong senior pair leading the way.

Emmaus had just a 32 second gap at districts last season, where it placed fourth. The young squad  will look to use its tight pack to contend for a spot in the top two. Liberty returns its entire varsity team from last season, which saw it take sixth at districts. Darlyn Fermin and Cole Frank will give the Hurricanes good lowsticks.

Nazareth Area, Southern Lehigh, and Northampton Area will all hope to get inside the top five this fall. Ultimately, the battle for the top two is fairly wide open. A number of teams will enter the stretch run of summer training with legitimate hopes for Hershey.
