Truthfully, it was a forgotten moment of this year's event - but it deserves its stars nonetheless.

Mason English of Lower Dauphin navigated the 2000m steeplechase in stellar form, running 6:07.63 and placing 14th overall. He won Heat #1 and obliterated his previous personal best of 6:18.45.

In doing so, he ran the fourth-fastest 2k Steeple in State History, less than a second slower than the current state record of 6:06.89. He ran the fastest time by a Pennsylvanian since Brenden Miller of Upper Dauphin ran 6:07.42 at the 2018 LHU Bald Eagle Invite.

English quietly put together a stellar senior campaign. He ran personal bests of 4:21.13 (1600m) and 9:31.57 (3200m). During the cross-country season, he placed 46th at the PIAA 3A State Championships.

English is committed to compete for Kutztown University. There - he will make an immediate impact as a Golden Bear. Kutztown placed seventh at the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship.

KU's squad consisted of only athletic Freshmen and Sophomores. English will likely slot right into their Top-5, and he will look to score points early in his collegiate career.
