Training: Workout 30 mins. Straight up…seriously, there were no downhills whatsoever. I asked FritzBoss beforehand where to go and he just said, "up." I knew that had to be bad news. Astrid, Livia and I warmed up and stretched just a little…then FritzBoss said "Und LOS" "And GO" and we just started running. ?Where: Wankdorf, Bern?Quotes: "We're the Thuner Trio and we are CRAZY!!!!!!" -Me Astrid, Livia and I were going crazy today. I dunno' what was up, but we could just not stop laughing…AFTER the workout of course. On our warm down Livia and I kept having to stop because we were laughing so hard! I love you girls!

"What is said in the Thuner Trio, STAYS in the Thuner Trio." –Me again of course

And here is the view when I visit my aunt in the famous Emdtal!!!
This is where I had stayed before I found an apartment in Thun.
See what I mean? You cannot be depressed on a run with scenery like this!!!

Okay, so the long day was almost over. We had a workout and then a meeting from 11 to 3 with a bunch of other athletes that are either on the National team or have potential to be on the Swiss National team. We basically just talked about goals for the national team, looked at past statistics about the Swiss team and about upcoming meets and potential running camps. I am pretty sure I will be going to either Portugal or Italy in February for a running camp, but I will keep you posted!

Anyway, so then Astrid, Livia, and I decided we hadn't had enough of each other and each other's jokes so we decided to go out to the movies…and yes, who knew that the movies could be so fun. We definitely made it an event and quite the evening. I am totally NOT 24, or at least many times I don't act like it…but Life is short dammmmit, we need to enjoy our time!!! Right Astrid? Right Livia? That's right.

"Oh my god, that was so funny…I think I just let a couple of drops in my pants…" –an undisclosed funny person hahahahhahahha SOOOO FUNNY I am glad that I am so funny that I almost make you pee your pants…it is quite the compliment.

Who knew that just going to the movies would be so much fun…We definitely turned a few heads from our laughing…I say we of course, even though if you know me, you know how PIERCING my laugh can be. Hahahhaha

The view from my window now.

Training: Morning: Self strength exercises PM: 50 mins with Astrid?Where: Aare river of course?Quotes: "It hurts, it hurts!" Me when we were doing some weird hip exercises! Hahaha

Okay people…so I am back in business…Connected again. To the internet and to the world once again!!! So I can continue on some rants….

So today..What is up with that?

I have already gone off on this subject once or twice or perhaps thrice before…I just don't understand long distance vegetarians who have iron problems…Yes, I do believe in the saying "to each his own"…however, I would like to see some statistics on how many Olympic long distance medal winners were vegetarians…If it is a high percentage, then okay, I can understand and perhaps this rant would change…But I really don't think that is the case! Yes, THINK. It is well-known that among male and female, of course mostly females, often have 'iron' problems…Meaning, anemia. Now of course I have known a few vegetarians who run long distance who haven't had iron problems…of course their mileage was a mere 40 miles or less a week…but if you jack that number up far past the 50s, I am not sure that one could sustain enough iron (without supplements of course) in one's body… And I'm sorry, I just don't see why you would go to the doctor every couple of months to get an "iron infusion" when you could just as well go out and have a steak once in a while…And it is coming from me, someone TERRIFIED of needles so that is probably why I don't understand it. And to me, it sounds like having to get an iron infusion is A LOT more unnatural than eating some meat! And okay, if you don't want to kill animals n' stuff, allright, allright…I am strictly talking about what is good for ME as a distance runner and I am sure for many other women. So if being a vegetarian long-distance runner, good for you…but I was raised eating meat and I will continue to do so for as long as I at least run! Hahaha So I am not a anti-vegiite or whatever, but I am when it comes to long distance running. You can call me an advocate for meat-eating and long distance running. I think I will start my own school…LOL

Still to come later this week…a soft side of Josi! Now that I am settled, I realize how incredibly lonely I get sometimes because I miss all of my friends!!! But hey, with the view out of my window, I can't stay sad for too long…I miss you apt 203 roomies!
