December 8, 9

Thursday December 8, 2005
Training: 80 minutes, DLL (slow)
Day Mileage: about 10 or 11 miles
Where: Emdtal toward Wimmis, 60 minutes of it with my cousin Vera!!!
WEATHER: Cold! Wore two long sleeves and tights. Not sure of temp.
Quotes: By the way, what the hell ever happened to November? I can't believe it's almost Christmas again!!!

Training Details: Slow pace, hillier route today. I would guess I was running about 7:30 pace per mile? It felt slow and we were running on snow because in Emdtal, it snows a lot more than it does where I live. Vera came along with me and it was a lot of fun to have company!

Friday December 9, 2005
Training: 65 mins DL1** and 20 mins DLLLL*
Worked on back-up system for 30 mins. Feel the burn! I don't enjoy crunches…figured that sounded nicer than I HATE crunches….hahahhahahaha It was alright today.
Day Mileage: about 11 to 12 miles
Where: Back in Thun because there was a foot of snow at my aunt's house and I had spent the night there last night.
WEATHER: low 30, hi 41 fairly warm considering I am in Switzerland and it is winter…am expecting some worse weather though….Tomorrow a hi of 26.
Quotes: Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there's love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong. ?Ella Fitzgerald

Training Details: Felt decent today actually, considering the mileage I have on my legs. I am sure after next week and high mileage, it will catch up. Right now I just can't stop eating either! My 65 minute run felt about 6:50 pace per mile….it FELT. Not sure though. But I made it to this one bridge 2 minutes faster today than I normally do, so I am sure that is a pretty good guesstimate. Course was FLAT. Nice.

*DLL-Which I call "butta** slow" pace 5-6 min per Km
**DL1-Decent pace, which I call "regular run" pace 4:30 per Km
DL2-Tempo pace, harder than regular, but comfortable 3:50-4:00 pace per Km
DL3-Up Tempo pace, controlled fast pace, 3:40 per K

Renewed my Vows….

Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there's love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong. ?Ella Fitzgerald

I have used this quote before, but it has really become my mantra. I have always enjoyed running, but I feel like moving over here to Switzerland has kind of renewed my passion for this thing, this distance running thing. So yeah, I renewed my vows with my running…"I promise to respect you and realize that you can be taken away from me at any minute and I will treat you that way." HAHAHAHA But really, I am so blessed to be able to run…To be able to do what I love every day. I have to remember to be thankful each day I am out there running. Many people all throughout the world are so busy just trying to survive that they don't even have the time or opportunity to even think about anything else except surviving. The days where I don't feel like running, if it is freeeezing cold and ugly outside, I have to remember that I am LUCKY to even have the choice to go and go for a run. I am lucky and want to continue on this journey and continue shooting for my goals…Just trying to make ends meet right now…Can be stressful at times!
