Tuesday December 13, 2005
Training: 80 mins alone am (60DL1) 30 mins pm DLL core strength 30 mins
Day Mileage: about 14 miles
Where: Steffisburg to further explore the new trails I found!
WEATHER: chilly, felt like 27 with winds
Quotes: "Don't let those negativity goblins get to you!"

Training Details: The 80 mins in the morning were rough for me, my legs are getting tired, but are still holding up. Not sure what pace I was running, would have liked to run 6:40 pace, but was most likely slower because I was tired. The later run felt nice, a little shake out run with stretching and worked on core. For core strength I just do a million different variations of crunches (laying on a huge ball, on a mat with my legs both at 90 degree angles, on a slant board, use one of those head support jobbies so you don't strain your neck to do crunches and work on my side abdominal muscles as well) and work on back strength as well because if you work on one side, you should always work on the other as well for balance! Also, since I don't do very many drills, I usually work on my hip flexors and extensors by doing self-strength exercises. We also do a lot of hill workouts, which obviously strengthens anyway. Once the spring and summer roll around, we will be working on our running drills very frequently!

Transitioning
I keep raising the topic of transition because so many things changed for me as soon as I graduated from college and then moved over here. I have mentioned many times that almost every variable changed when I moved over here. The key is to stay patient, and I have to remind myself daily that all of this training will come together sometime. The work I am putting in right now may not show up until a year later!!! MAY not… The long run, the big picture….

Karen, thank you so much for my present!!!
Shout out to Kiersa. Remember, lots of smiles equals lots of tips. Hahahha
