Another invitational, the same result for Jason Coon and Evan Arnott of Schuylkill Valley in the shot put. The duo have made a habit out of finishing 1-2 at most meets they have competed in this season and today was no exception. Coon took the gold medal with a throw of 56-6 while Arnott threw 55-11.25 to finish 2nd. Wilson boys ran 3:33.37 to win the 4x400 meter relay by a big 15 seconds. Tory Long of Hempfield (3) won the 55 meter dash (6.78) and the 200 meter dash 24.11.
For the girls, Abington Heights clinch their spot in the state championship DMR with a winning time of 12:56.26. Taylor Ross led off in 4:01 for the 1200 meter leg, Miss Burke ran 1:07 on the 400 meter leg, Jenn Burke ran 2:32 on the 800 meter leg, and one of the rising stars of the indoor season, Tessa Barrett anchored the relay with a 5:16 1600 meter leg. Molly McKeon of Pope John Paul II ran 5:22.12 to win the 1600 meter run. Danielle Poletti of Hempfield (3) finished 2nd in the pole vault with a clearance of 11 feet. Hanna Brosky of Emmaus ran 2:22.37 to win the 800 meter run. Holly Sullivan of Owen J Roberts won the long jump (17-5) and the 400 meter dash (1:00.85). Cheyenne Brown of William Penn ran 26.73 to win the 200 meter dash.

SPIRE HS Showcase
Hanna Green of Greater Latrobe finished 2nd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.32 and finally got a grasp of the top spot in the state in the event. Grace Trucillia of Villa Maria finished 6th in a loaded 800 meter run with a PA#6 time of 2:16.85. Teammate Claire Brown ran 2:18.09 to finish 8th. Villa Maria won the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 9:52.93. Dee Dee Adams of Freedom ran 11:16.80 to win the 3200 meter run. India McCoy of Ambridge Area cleared 5-4 to win the high jump. Rebekah Petty of Greenville won the pole vault with a PA#2 clearance of 12 feet. Sophia Fustos of Hickory threw 39-4.50 to finish 2nd in the shot put.
For the boys, Malik Moffett of Cathedral Prep soared all the way up to PA#2 and T-US#7 in the high jump with a winning clearance of 6-8. Jonathan Dorogy of Seneca Valley ran 7.01 to finish 5th in the 60 meter dash (PA#8) and finished 10th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.65 (PA#7). Dan Jaskowak of Grove City Area finished 7th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:29.77. Greg Miaczynski of Central Tech ran 8.47 to finish 3rd in the 60 meter hurdles. Nick Anderson of Kane Area cleared 13-6 to finish 3rd in the high jump. Luke Lewis of Hickory threw 57-3.50 to finish 3rd in the shot put.

Christina Wills of Ringgold finished 4th in the 55 meter dash in 7.61 and 2nd in the 200 meter dash in 27.16 behind winner Taylor McCorkle of Oakland Catholic, who ran 7.27 in the 55 meter dash and 26.57 in the 200 meter dash. Butler ran 10:02.48 to win the 4x800 meter relay. Madison Williams of Peters Township cleared 10-11.75 to win the pole vault. Samantha Scherrer of Baldwin won the triple jump with a mark of 31-5.75.
For the boys, Joey Wall of Ringgold won the 55 (6.65) and 200 meter dashes (23.51). Torey Doaty of Pittsburgh Central Catholic ran 52.14 to win the 400 meter dash. Christian Labash of Baldwin ran 2:05.98 to win the 800 meter run. Pittsburgh Central Catholic won the 4x200 (1:36.98) and 4x400 meter relays (3:41.62). Gary Jackson of Baldwin won the long jump (21-00.75) and the triple jump (42-7). Alec Rideout of Canon-McMillan threw 49-9.25 to win the shot put.

PCL Championships

Lasalle boys flew out of the gates and never looked back as they won their first league team championship since 1999 with a score of 136 points. Cardinal O'Hara was 2nd with 99 points. Tom Coyle and Andrew Stone led the charge for Lasalle, starting their day with a 1-2 finish in the mile run. Coyle ran 4:20.57 for PA#3 honors and Stone ran a PA#4 time of 4:22.05. Kevin James of Cardinal O'Hara was 3rd with a PA#5 time of 4:22.80. Coyle also won the 3000 meter run with a meet record and PA#3 time of 8:46.88 ahead of Dan Savage of Cardinal O'Hara (8:48.34) and his teammate Kevin James (8:54.25). All 3 guys broke last year's meet record of 8:55.55 that Coyle set last season. Stone added an 800 meter gold medal with a PA#6 time of 1:58.79. Teammate Corey Muggler won the triple jump with a PA#3 mark of 45-6.50 while Luke Persichetti contributed to the team title with a shot put win with a mark of 53-2.50.
Malik Jones of Roman Catholic set two meet records, winning the 400 meter dash in 49.70 and taking the 200 meter dash with a state leading time of 22.10. Todd Townsend of Neumann Goretti broke his own meet record in the 60 meter hurdles with a PA#2 time of 8.14.
For the girls, Cardinal O'Hara won the team championship over Archbishop Ryan 128-104 with the whole team playing a part in the win against an Archbishop Ryan team who scored 3 places in the hurdles and took the top three places in the triple jump.
Ke'von Lumb of Bishop McDeviit won the 60 meter dash (7.91) and the long jump (T-PA#4 17-7.50). Teresa Ortiz of St Hubert's won the mile (5:10.02) and the 3000 meter runs (11:05.34). Rachel Flynn of Archbishop Carroll ran 2:19.09 to win the 800 meter run. Allison Sharkey of Cardinal O'Hara ran 59.19 to win the 400 meter dash.

Chester County Last Chance Meet
West Chester Henderson
Eliza Lukens-Day of Germantown Friends ran a solo PA#3, US#18 time of 10:07.78 to win the 3000 meter run. Kim Lapszynski of Unionville won the long jump with a PA#10 mark of 17-4. Devon Towell of West Chester Henderson ran 2:19.30 to win the 800 meter run. For the boys, Isaac Taylor of West Chester Rustin moved from PA#48 to a PA#6 withhis 22.59 to win the 200 meter dash. David O'Such of Spring Ford ran a PA#8 time of 50.64 to win the 400 meter dash. Malvern Prep ran a PA#14 1:33.38 to win the 4x200 meter relay. Council Rock South ran a PA#10 3:29.10 to win the 4x400 meter relay.
West Chester Henderson hosted a last chance polar bear meet to help athletes earn state qualifying marks after the weekend snow canceled several meets in the area. Some runners took advantage and made major pushes to become contenders entering next weekend's state championships. In fact, 14 athletes or relays did exactly that.
