Steel City unveils a new course for 2006 - tougher but most downhill road eliminated...

The 2006 Steel City Invitational, annually held the first Saturday in October, will inveil a new course in 2006 because of construction on the Coatesville campus. The new course is described as tough, but a look at the comparative maps reveils that virtually all of the formerly downhill racing on pavement from the VA Hospital, has been eliminated and replaced by grass.

The start is at the opposite end of campus from the old start, and the uphill section actually goes a little higher than before. But coming down should be more runner friendly, as the road isn't picked up again until you're virtually out of the trees.
