Imagine competing in a tri meet and putting on a discus performance that makes the all-time WPIAL (Western PA Interscholastic Athletic Conference, or 'WIPPPIAL' for short), and finishing second. Well, Jeremi Lenzi reports that that is exactly what happened Wed April 4 to Greensburg-Salem's Corinne Free, when she tossed the disc 143-08. She was nosed out by Hempfield's Kim Kanala, who went 144-2. Franklin Regional also competed in the meet was held at Hempfield. Those are the 5th and 6th best all-time WPIAL throws. Congrats. Can't wait to see what they do in May!

On Tues April 3 at a dual meet in Carlisle, the Herd's Kacey James had a nice double, throwing 124-9 to win the Jav and 119-3 to take the Discus. Also at the same meet, Chambersburg's Sarah Morrison posted a 5:16.0 mile.
And how about the PRs by 2006 Acacemy Park grad and Lincoln University freshman Aaron Hunter (left(. At the Delaware State Invitational in Dover, DE on March 31st, he improved his long jump by a few inches from high school, but improved his triple jump by almost three feet.
