Editor's Note: Over 40 League and Conference meets this week all around the state. Thanks to Hannah Granger, Aris Polites, Chris Roe and Mike Schmittlein, we FINISHED entering last week's elite marks from 22 meets into the rankings (Non-HyTek/RaceTab meets have to be entered by hand). And we are doing best to keep up this week. All HyTek meets are being processed for rankings within a few hours of being received. I went to the District 12 AAA track finals at Northeast HS on Friday. I will then be on the road to the District 6 AA meet in Altoona on Tuesday, back home to keep up with Districts coverage, and then to District 3 on Friday and District 1 on Saturday. Wow, did this season go fast! Not as fast as Brandon and Ryann and Chanelle and Paul... but fast, nonetheless.

5/7 PCL Boys Northern Division Champs @ LaSalle HS

In the sprinting events of this divisional championships, Charles Gladman of Cardinal Dougherty won both the 100m and 200m, in 10.9 and 22.2, while Rashad Little (49.9), Cardinal-Egan, cracked 50 for the win in the 400. Coming off an impressive XC season which featured a 2nd place tie with NA to Coatesville at Carlisle, a solid showing at the Manhattan Invitational, and a 4th straight PCL Championships, LaSalle swept the Mile and 3200. In the mile, Junior Dan Lowry (4:24.5-2:00.5), who was second in the 800 to Sean Mallon, Archbishop Ryan, (1:59.2), defeated teammates Phil Wood (4:25.1), and Colin Barrett (4:26.7). Sophomore Phil Wood then came back to win the 3200 in an impressive 9:38.7. Wood and Lowry will be a very strong duo for LaSalle next in year in XC, when they vie for their 5th straight team championship. Kashif Thompson of Archbishop Ryan won the 110HH in 14.6, and Brian Moore of LaSalle almost swept the throwing events, but was held to 2nd in the shot by Tom Barr (48-3.5). Moore’s throws measured 47-10 in the shot, 141-4 in the disc, and 196-3 in the jav. Father Judge won the team title, with LaSalle second.
