Per confirmation of the PTFCA, Sam Ritz of Germantown Academy ran a new state record 4:10.50 in his 5th place finish at the New Balance Grand Prix junior mile in Boston last weekend. The time breaks the 2014 record of 4:11.56 set by Tony Russell at the same meet and the 1981 record held by Blair Mancini of North Penn back in 1981 (4:11.57).
