PA Salute to Seniors - Floyd Nichols, Taylor Allderdice

What was your most memorable race/competition?

My most memorable race competition definitely had to be the 2015 Butler Invitational. Not only did I run two big PRs in the mileand two mile, but that day our team had some really outstanding performances from both the girls and the boys.

Where did you face your biggest competition?

My biggest competition was the cross country state championship this year. It was the first state meet I've been to.

Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?

Being apart of an improving team. We've really grown over the past years I've been at Allderdice. Just a few years ago it wasdifficult for us to compete against the WPIAL schools, but this year I think we definitely gave them honest competition.

If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your athletic career in high school?

Setting Higher goals for myself.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

My sophomore year I was always injured. From cross country season to track season I was injured.

What will you miss the most?

Definitely my team and my coaches.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Believe in yourself and never settle for anything less than your best effort. Set high goals for the future.

How have your coaches influenced your performances and your life goals overall?

Without Coach Flynn I would have never been a runner. He thought I would be good at cross country and told me to try it out my sophomore year. Ever since then I fell in live with the sport. Also Coach Dan taught me a lot about the sport during my underclassmen years. And finally, Coach Meddings definitely taught me the importance of believing myself and trusting my training.

What are your college plans?

I will be attending Saint Vincent College. I will be running cross country and track for them. I plan on studying Biology Pre-Med.

Shout-Outs?

Coach Flynn, Coach Meddings, and Coach Dan. I know I wouldn't be the runner I am today without them!

My training partner Amadou Diallo for pushing me and helping me become a better runner/racer.

Ean Disilvio for inspiring me to keep running.

Last but not least my Parents for supporting me and my running lifestyle!
