After one week of competition, we have rankings of all competing athletes by class!
Jake Brophy and Griffin Mackey are the top two boys in the state and they are both top of the senior class and junior class respective with their 15:48 performances!
The top sophomore is Warrior Run's Cassidy Hoffman. Hoffman recorded a huge two minute personal best from his freshman season, running 16:26.8 to finish 2nd at the Lock Haven Bear Mountain River Run! Top freshman honors go to Ryan Starvaggi of Harbor Creek, who broke 17 minutes in his first career invitational with a 16:53.7
Erin Feeney of Scranton Prep is top of the state with her 18:42 from Cliff Robbins and it is the fastest time in the senior class. Despite finishing 2nd at the Lions Invitational, top junior honors goes to the reigning District 11 AAA champion Raisa Kochmaruk of Liberty. Her time of 18:55 is her first career sub 18 minute performance and her 3rd career top two finish.
The girl who defeated Kochmaruk is the top freshman after the first week. Kiele Riefenstahl of Saucon Valley edged the district champion by a slim two second margin with a time of 18:53 to make a big splash on her high school debut. Sophomore honors go to Katie Dammer of Abington Heights. Dammer was a state medalist last season (20th) and she finished 3rd behind Riefenstahl and Kochmaruk with a personal best 19:09.
