12/12 Hill School Invitational @ Ursinus College

RESULTS POSTED 

Methacton's Ryann Krais and Spring-Ford's Heather Giovagnoli got in gear for the indoor season using diverse combinations of events with generally the same outcome, success. Krais is increasing her emphasis on the multis this season, and did two of the five Pentathylon events, two for wins. Her best was a solo 8.33 in the 55 hurdles (it's 60m for the Pentathlon). She also ran 26.46 for 200 and cleared 5-0 in the high jump, taking second to teammate Betsy Dempsey, who was over at 5-02. Giovagnoli anchored the winning 4x800 to a 10:13.13 with a 2:21.6 anchor; then ran a state-champ qualifying 10:38.99 in the 3000;  and closed with a 62-second split in the 4x400, bring her team from 4th to 2nd in 4:31.46, behind Radnor's 4:29.47. For the boys, Norristown's Mike Pearson went 23.26 to take the 200. Methacton's Wesley Lavong threw the shot 53-02.50. Friends' Central had a strong showing as Iva Milic-Strkalj won the 800 in 2:04.28 and the mile in 4:32.74. Teammate Pat DeSabato was 2nd in both the mile and 3000, the latter won by James Finucane of Mercersburg in 9:13.12.

 

12/14 DVGTCA Indoor Meet #3 @ Ursinus College

The DVGTCA Indoor Meet # 3 at Ursinus produced a number of elite performances. Sophomore Shanae Bailey of Swenson Arts and Tech won the 60m dash in 7.5 seconds. Teammate Anthonia Ballard took the 60m hurdles in 8.9. Conestoga’s Kacie O’Neil won the 400m in 61.2. Upper Dublin’s Kelsey Rose took the 600m in 1:40.8.  Ashley Fornshell of Downingtown East won the 1000m in 3:09.6. William Tennet’s Anne Areis ran a 10:59.8 to win the 3000m. The Conestoga girls won two relays in the 4x400m (4:05.5) and 4x200m (1:50.3). The Council Rock North girls’ 4x800m relay team won in a time of 9:46.4. Pennridge’s Anne Holland cleared 5’03” to win the high jump. Phoenixville’s Courtney Kedra won the long jump with a mark of 17’08” and Coatesville’s Kaleena Gray won the shot put with a throw of 41’09.50”. 


12/15 Dickinson College HS Invite #1

In the Dickinson High School Invite, Bishop McNamara’s (MD) Sanel Atkinson beat State College’s Christie Johnson on fewer attempts to win the high jump at 5-06. Montoursville’s Michael Keenan won the 55m hurdles in 7.67. Taylor Butler of Bishop McNamara took the girls race in 8.75. Reading’s Romarr Mayne won the 55m dash in 6.52 while teammate Fatima Gaston took home honors in the girl’s race with a 7.49. In 400m, Bishop McNamara’s Monica Mason broke the tape in 1:01.27 and Trinity’s David Smith ran a 52.49 to win the boys race. Great Valley’s Carolyn Morse ran an 11:48.68 to take the girls 3200m. In the field, Trinity’s Erin Guty won the girls long jump with a mark of 16-10.50.  Hanover’s Landsay Kopenhaver cleared 10-09.00 to win the pole vault. Trinity’s Shannon Crane won the shot put with a toss of 35-03.50 and Indiana’s Joe McCombie won the boy’s pole vault in 14-06.00. 

 

12/15 Franklin & Marshall HS Invitational #1 @ Franklin & Marshall College 

RESULTS POSTED

At the Franklin and Marshall H.S. Invite Norristown’s Courtney Bell topped the triple jump with a mark of 35’ 4.5”. In the pole vault, Jocelyn Witmer of Penn Manor cleared 11’0” to beat Crestwood’s Mandissa Marshall at 10’6”. Quinn Staley of Lampeter-Strasburg cleared 14’0” to win the boys pole vault. Gabriella Rinehart of Norristown won the girls shot put with a throw of  37’6.5” and Downington West’s Christen Arnold took home two first place finishes in the long jump (17’4.50.”) and 200 (27.24). 

 

12/15 TFCAGP D1 Indoor Meet #3 @ Ursinus College

RESULTS POSTED

Top performances in the TFCAGP D1 Meet #3 at Ursinus were Northeast’s (Philadelphia) Nafis Mohammed in the 55m dash with a time of 7.0. In the 60m high hurdles, Jermaine Lowry of Father Judge won in 8.0. North Penn’s Steve Franks took the 800m race in 2:00.4. Lower Marion’s Neal Berman won the 3000m in a time of 9:13.6. In the 4x800m relay Council Rock North took home top honors with an 8:18.5. Pennridge won the DMR in 11:01.4. In the field, Overbrook’s Jason Johnson marked a 44’4.25” triple jump victory.  Pennridge’s Craig Sherwood cleared 14’0” in the pole vault and Glen Mills’ Kenneth Bell won the shot put in 50’8”. 

 

12/15 TFCAGP D2 Indoor Meet #3 @ Ursinus College

RESULTS POSTED

In the TFCAGP D2 Meet #3 at Ursinus, Engineering and Sciences’ Dwayne Hyman, Austin Perron, Ramaan Ansley and Byron Dailiy posted a 3:32.2 winning time in the 4x400m relay. Wissahickon’s Scott Kern, Tyrone Clayton, Andrew Fleisher and Nick Crits won the DMR in 11:06.6 over Perkiomen Valley, who ran an 11:15.1.
