Weekend Summaries

 

1/4 to 1/6 Colgate Women's Games #2

Chanelle Price started her race with the goal of obtaining the USATF Indoor Nationals standard of 2:08.50, however those plans were scuttled by a 55 meter dash competitor who ran across the track a mere 20 meters into the 800 meter race.  Price finished with the win in a time of 2:13.9 and remains confident that she will run sub-2:08.  Ije Iheoma, Council Rock South, finished 3rd in both the 200 and the 400 with times of 26.2 and 58.4.  Vicky Gocht, Upper Dublin, also went sub-60, finishing 4th in 58.8, and joining her in 5th was Elyse Wilkinson, William Penn, in 59.1.  Benita Taylor, Engineering and Science, finished 10th in 60.6.  Vicky, Elyse, and Benita also ran the 800 meter race and finished 3rd, 7th, and 8th respectively in times of 2:23.7, 2:27.6, and 2:29.3.  Zatirah Green, William Penn, finished 4th in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 7.4 seconds.  Asja Goode, Willingboro, ran a semifinal time of 7.5.  Allison Constant, Notre Dame, was the runner-up in the 1500 with a time of 5:03.6, while Syeeda Gee, Engineering and Science, was 3rd in 5:06.3, and Alex Brasington, Upper Dublin, was 4th in 5:08.4.

 

1/4 DVGTCA Indoor Meet #5

Ryann Krais, Methacton,  turned in an impressive double victory in the 600 meter run and the long jump.  Krais won the 600 meter run in a time of 1:41.6.  In the long jump she outdistanced the competition by over one foot with a leap of 18'1.50".  Karen Shump, Penncrest, won the shot put by over 10 feet, with a throw of 48'01".  Saint Basil Academy turned in a fast early season time in the 4x800 relay with a performance of 9:45.1.  West Chester Henderson senior Carly Hamond won the 1000 meter run in a time of 3:03.5, outpacing her nearest competitor by over 13 seconds.  


 

1/4 East Stroudsburg HS Indoor #1

RESULTS POSTED

Harrisburg boys posted a pair of victories in the 4x200 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay.  Harrisburg ran a time of 1:33.4 in the 4x200 and 3:26.4 in the 4x400.  Matt Cannell, Daniel Boone, long-jumped 21'5" for the win in his event.  Hanif Johnson, Harrisburg, won the triple jump with a leap of 45'11".  The 55 meter dash was hotly contested with Joshua Potts, Harrisburg, winning in 6.4 seconds, while Mike Vatti, Easton, Dodson Waterton, East Stroudsburg North, and Jordan Barrett, Bound Brook NJ, finished 2nd-4th in 6.5 seconds.  Harrisburg's Leon Bullock won the 55 meter hurdles in 7.3 seconds over David Hightower, Easton, 7.4 seconds. Garth Watson, Canton, won the 3200 in a time of 9:39.2. 

For the girls,  Ayriel George, Lehighton, won the long jump in 17'9", while Kristin Brandt, Central Mountain, took the triple jump in 37'00".  Harrisburg won the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:48.3.  Alysha Cook, Harrisburg, won the 55 meter dash in 7.2 seconds and Aniyah Williams, Philipsburg NJ, won the 55 meter hurdles in 8.7 seconds.  Shakeya Ladson-Singleton, Norristown, won the 400 with a 1:02.0 effort, and Natalie Disepastian, Hempfield, won the 800 in 2:24.6.  Caitlin Cavanaugh, Danville, posted a good 3200 meter run time of 11:18.5 on her way to a victory in the event.  Gabrielle Rinehart, Norristown, won the shot put with a throw of 38'8".  

  

1/4-1/5 Reno Pole Vault Summit

Abby Schaffer, Easton Area, took 2nd in the girls HS vault with a height of 12-11.5, a PR by over 5 inches.  First place went to Shade Weygandt, TX, with a vault of 13-7.  Abby just missed in her attempts at 13-3. Tory Worhten, Council Rock South, was 4th in the HSG#2 flight, clearing a PR of 12-02, bettering her previous best of 12-00.  Kerry Mcdermott, Bethlehem Catholic, cleared 11-04 in the HSG#3 flight, while Mandissa Marshall, Crestwood, cleared 10-10 in the same flight.  Lindsay Kopenhaver, Hanover, competed in HSG#4, and cleared 10-02.  Lauren Molchan, Laurel Highlands, and Julia Green,Emmaus, bothe competed in HSG#5, and both cleared 10-04.  

In the boys competition, Tony Shirk, Phoenixville, competed in the HSB#2 flight and vaulted 14-10. Latrobe's Jason Timmons cleared 14-2 to take Flight #4.  Christopher Dodds, Wilson, and Jared George, Altoona, both competed in the HSB#3 flight, and both vaulted 13-00. 

 

1/5 Albright College HS Invite #1 

RESULTS POSTED

For the boys jumps Raymond Quill won the high jump with a leap of 6'2" and Neal Fox won the triple jump with a mark of 43'9.5".  Neal was a double winner, as he also won the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 8.1 seconds.  In the boys distance events Russel Dinkins was also a double winner with a time of 2:11.2 in the 800 meter run and 4:57.1 in the mile run. 

For the girls sprint races Devan Coon was a triple winner, running 7.3 seconds in the 55 meter dash, 27.1 seconds in the 200 meter dash, and 1:03.9 for the 400 meter run.

Meghan Lutz, Nazareth, wins the 3000 meter race in a time of 10:23.06. In the 200, Swenson's Shanae Bailey ran 24.44 to capture the win.  Kevin Steinberg, Neshaminy, was 5th in the boys 55 meter dash with a time of 6.50 seconds.  In the boys Invitational 400 meter dash Jermaine Lowery, Father Judge, won his heat and took second overall with a time of 49.03.  Khaliff Featherstone, Gratz, was 2nd behind Lowery and 3rd overall with a time of 49.11.  Three PA athletes finished 2-4 in the 200 meter dash.  Juan Steward, Cumberland Valley was 2nd in 22.11, Khaliff Featherstone, Simon Gratz, was 3rd in 22.18, and Jermaine Lowery, Father Judge, was 4th in 22.59.  Kevin Steinberg, Neshaminy, ran 6.50 seconds to capture 4th in the 55 meter dash, while Neshaminy's 800 meter relay team took 5th in their race with a time of 1:35.46.  In the boys invitational mile Michael Pierce, Holy Ghost Prep, was 8th with a time of 4:25.03.  Lower Merion teammates Neil Berman and Ben Furcht took 6th and 12th respectively in the invitational 3200 meter run with times of 9:44.34 and 9:57.16.  In the shot put Dave Smith, Father Judge, finished 4th with a throw of 48'9.25".  In the girls 55 meter dash Geronne Black, Paul Robeson, finished in 6th place with a time of 7.33 seconds.  In the girls 800 meter relay Penn Wood finished 4th with a time of 1:46.11 and Paul Robeson finished 5th in 1:46.52.

Reading sophomore Fatima Gaston (right), Trinity junior Erin Guty, and Indian Valley senior Brooke Mathews, ripped top 55 dashes, finishing in that order, all with a 7.44 hand time (Mathews ran that in the prelims). 

Gabriella Rinehart, Norristown, won the shot put with a throw of 39-4.50 and Anna Muzio, Central Dauphin, was 2nd with a throw of 37-07.75.  Courtney Bell, Norristown, took the triple jump with a mark of 36-01.50.  Liz Martin, Garden Spot, won the 55 meter hurdle event in 8.74 seconds.   

For the boys, Andrew Batula, Annville-Cleona, won the high jump with a leap of 6'6.00".  Shane Witmyer, Wilson, won the long jump, posting a mark of 21'4.50", and Godwin Omo-Ekpadi, Norristown, won the triple jump in 43'3.00".  Manny Morris, Octorora, won the 55 meter hurdles over West York's Ben Koch, 7.84 to 8.14.  Romarr Mayne, Reading, won the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.64 seconds.

 

1/5 TFCAGP D1 Indoor Meet #5

RESULTS POSTED

Zach Kohler won the high jump by over 4 inches with a leap of 6'4".  Wesley Lavong, Methacton, won the shot put with a throw of 53'11.5".  Upper Dublin came away with a pair of relay wins with a time of 10:43.2 in the DMR and 1:36.2 in the 800 meter relay.  North Penn won the SMR with a time of 3:50.3.  In the 60 meter dash Kevin Wilbank, Ridley, won with a time of 6.9 seconds.  Shakeem Riggs won the 60 meter high hurdles in 8.6 seconds. The 800 meter race was won in 2:00.9 by Austin Tobelmann, Downingtown West.  In the 3000 meter run Ian Quinlan, Methacton, won with a time of 9:07.4.  

 

1/5 TFCAGP D2 Indoor Meet #5

PARTIAL RESULTS POSTED

Engineering & Science won the sprint medley with a time of 3:42.7 to beat Phoenixville by 6.5 seconds.  Wissahickon ran 10:57.0 to win the distance medley over a Great Valley squad that ran 11:10.2.  Phoenixville's Andrew Carr won the shot put with a throw of 48'10.5".  Teammate Kyrig Williams took first in the high jump with a leap of 6'4".  Germantown Friends runners won the 800 and mile with Tom Waterman winning the former race in 2:03.2 and Isaac Ortiz winning the mile in 4:35.2.  Nick Bonaventure, Penncrest, won the 3000 in a time of 9:12.5.   

 

1/5 TSTCA Indoor Meet #1

In the shot put competition Dan Kwaitkowski, McDowell, won with a throw of 59'4" to take the top position in the state, while CJ Klegg, Hempfield, was second with a put of 54'2".  Matt Bellay, Montoursville, won the 60 meter dash in 6.9 seconds and Eric Kasunich, Upper Saint Clair, took the 600 meter hurdles in 8.6 seconds.  Central Catholic won the 4x220 yard relay over Canon McMillan, 1:38.3 to 1:38.5.  Seneca Valley won the DMR with a time of 11:16.5.  Jeravin Matthews, Canon McMillen, won the long jump with a leap of 20'10.5".  

 

In the girls competition Penn Hills took the 4x220 yard relay with a time of 1:50.2.  Monique Sims, Schenley, won a close 60 meter dash over Kailey Baker, Hopewell, with both runners timed in 7.8 seconds.  EB Kline, Upper Saint Clair, won the 60 meter hurdles in 9.6 seconds.  Calsie Boyd, Richland, won the high jump with a leap of 5'4", and Hempfield's Kim Kanala won the shot put with a throw of 38'10".
