Team and Individual Classification Rankings Week 4

The cream of the crop in PA is starting to rise to the top as we approach the midway point of the season!

In our latest individual classification rankings, all but one of the leaders has broken 15:42. Will Kachman of Bedford and Griffin Mackey of Sewickley Academy have held their top spot for the majority of September. Jaxson Hoey of Downingtown West took the top AAA spot for the first time with his 15:28 win at Carlisle, while Nick Dahl of Germantown Friends won his 2nd meet in a row at the Bowdoin Invite in New York!

Olivia Sargent of Pennsbury and Jerrica Bauer of George School have held their respective top spots for two weeks, while Claire Brown of Villa Maria Academy and Lauren Gronbeck of Eden Christian Academy earned their top spots this past week. Sargent and Brown have won state XC team titles in their careers.

In the team rankings, three of the six PIAA state champions sit on top of the classification rankings. Villa Maria has topped the AA list since September 12. The same thing can be said for boys Class A champions Winchester Thurston. Both teams have tried their luck against AAA sides and have seen good success. Villa Maria is still undefeated against all challengers. Pennsbury have been on top of the girls AAA division for two weeks and have a huge lead at the top, making them tough to catch.

Holy Ghost Prep (AA boys) and St Joseph's Catholic Academy (A girls) have been on top since day 1 of the season. St Joseph's Catholic Academy finished 3rd to Class A champs Central Cambria, but have made progress from last season. Holy Ghost Prep has a small gap at the top with AA state champions York Suburban edging closer after a big win at PIAA Foundation.
