Weekend Preview (1/23): Meet Previews and Cancellation Info

TSTCA Indoor Meet #1

CANCELLED with no make-up date announced.

Boys: PA#2 in the long jump, Micah Watts of West Mifflin will be doing three events: the long jump, high jump, and 60m hurdles. Leading a solid 200m field is Antwan Brooks of Aliquippa. In the 800m, we'll have a good matchup between Penn Hills' Isaiah Bailey and Penn Trafford's Nick Wagner. Wagner is coming off a nice start to his season last week. Peters Township's Nick Wolk leads a mile field that also includes Logan Caruso of Bradford. In the 3000 meters, Will Loevner of Winchester Thurston will duel with Todd Gunzenhauser of Mount Lebanon.

The state's best pole vaulters will converge in Edinboro for a good matchup. PA#1 Caleb Sanford of McDowell has proved to be the most consistent, clearing 15-0 twice. Will the Hempfield duo of Hayden Fox and Adam Gamber challenge him? Jordan Geist is also entered here (in addition to YSU). Also in the field here is Hempfield's Dom Marshall and Geist's Knoch teammate Brennan McTighe.

Girls: Villa Maria's Grace Brown and Melissa Ricci lead the field in the 800 meters. They also have a DMR it appears they might go after. Claire Brown of Villa Maria tops the field of entries in the mile with Oakland Catholic's Lauren Finikiotis looking to challenge. Finikiotis is also in the 3000 field with Mount Lebanon's Kelsey Potts with what could be a fast 15-lapper.

In the field, Hempfield's Gina Cuneo leads the field into the high jump with her PA#3. In the pole vault, Hempfield's Molly DeBone will look to build on her PA#5. Moniteau's Maura Kimmel is PA#4 in the shot put and will compete in that event on Saturday.
