TFCAofGP Last Chance Meet (@Lehigh U.)

The final meet of the standard TFCAofGP schedule is Friday, the Last Chance Meet. A nice field has been assembled for the meet that isn't exactly the "last chance," but states is right around the corner. Here's what we're watching for (with an order of events at the bottom of the page):

FIELD: PA#5 Eric Wacker of Pennsbury will be highly favored in the high jump with a 6-5 personal best. The long jump will be a good matchup between William Tennent's Stephen Testa, Devon Prep's Charlie Verna, and Upper Dublin's Brian Kaufmann.

SPRINTS/HURDLES: The 60 meters features Imhotep's Kristian Marche and Downingtown East's Jeremy Jennings, along with Lower Merion's Ahmad Hall. It's certainly possible we could see a few sub-7 seconds performances. In the 60 hurdles, Upper Darby's Mason Weh will be favored, but he'll get a challenge from Sam Lindner of the Haverford School. Imhotep's Ade Jones-Roundtree leads a strong 200 meter field with the Norristown duo of Khalif Sinclair, Nate Reynolds, and Downingtown West's Matt McCool. The 400 field is led by Penn Wood's Dennis Manyeah. Look out for North Penn's Dante Watson (winner of the 800 at the TFCAofGP last week), Neshaminy's Sean Conway (winner of the 400m at that TFC meet), and MLK's Tyreek Mathis.

DISTANCE: Josh Hoey of Downingtown West ran one 800 this season at the Hispanic Games. He sits at PA#17 right now, and it looks like Hoey will look to get into a more comfortable states position at Last Chance. He's the top seed in the field. William Tennent's Matt Kraus and Penn Wood's Jahi Smith are also in the 8. The mile will be a good race between Downingtown West's Ryan Barton and Conestoga's PJ Murray, with the Haverford School's Charlie Scales looking to make some noise. Council Rock South's Joe Maguire is entered in the 3000 along with Haverford's James Abrahams. Maguire ran a nice 3K at Burdette in late December, he'll likely need another fast 3000 if he wants to make states in that event.
