Tuesday Leagues Recap: Lackawanna, Heritage, LHAC, ICC

Leagues week started off nicely on Tuesday with a handful of meets happening across the state. Here's a quick look at some of the action:

Robert Spagna Championship Meet (Lackawanna Track Conference)

Meet Results

Abington Heights' Katie Dammer picked up a pair of wins in the distance events, taking the conference championship in both the 800 (2:19.71) and 1600 (5:08.93). In the 300m hurdles, Blue Ridge's Lindsey Rupakas outdueled Delaware Valley's Kara Gearhart to the line for the win. Rupakus clocked a 46.00. Scranton Prep's Erin Feeney has been quiet this outdoor season, but she came away with a convincing win in the 3200 to take the conference title in 11:08.81.

North Pocono's Lucianne Burner cleared 11-0 to win the pole vault and Abington Heights' Danielle Heine took second with a 10-6 clearance. In the triple jump, Scranton Prep's Kaitlin McGrath jumped 36-7.75 for the win, which is a new PR for her.

The Slagus' cleaned up in the discus. On the girls' side, Jessica Slagus (North Pocono) won with a throw of 130-0, and winning for the boys was Matthew Slagus, throwing 170-5. In the javelin, Elk Lake's Hunter Watkins just missed the 200 foot barrier, throwing 199-1 for the win and a new PR.

North Pocono's Matt Kravitz ran away with the 1600, winning in a time of 4:24.02.

For the team title, Abington Heights scored 100 points on the girls' side to take the win over Lakeland, while North Pocono won for the boys, scoring 84.5 points.

Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference

Meet Results

There were a couple nice battles in the javelin at LHAC in Loretto, Pa. On the girls' side, Penn Cambria's Jadyn Tiracave bested Central Cambria's Michelle Hildebrand for the win. Tiracave threw 127-11, while Hildebrand threw 124-5. Then for the boys, Richland's Ethan Dabbs tossed the jav 196-6.5 to beat Bedford's August Cook, who threw 191-3 for second.

The Central Cambria girls ran just off their season best in the 4x800, winning in 9:32.44. Carly Kaschalk of Central Cambria won the 300 hurdles in a time of 45.86. It wasn't enough as far s the team race was concerned, though, as Forest Hills took the team title for the girls win with 152.5 points. Victoria Koeck of Forest Hills was their lone individual champ, clearing 5-4 in the high jump.

Bedford took the team win, scoring 104.5 to beat Richland, which scored 92 points.

ICC Championship Meet

Meet Results

For the girls' Northern Bedford sqeaked out the team championship of Southern Fulton, 85-80. On the boys' side, Everett Area, behind a 39.12 for the win in the 300 hurdles from Tanner Sipes, easily won the team title scoring 111 points. Bellwood Antis was second with 88 points.

Heritage Conference Championship

Meet Results

In the closest team battle of the day, the Homer Center boys edged out Ligonier Valley, 125-124, to win the Heritage Conference Championship.

On the girls' side United beat out Marion Center in another close team race, 131-125. For United, Michaela Bracken won the 300 hurdles in 45.75. Marion Center's Hanna Beer won the javelin with a throw of 124-11.
