There was no shortage of talent in AAA girls' triple jump. There was plenty of 38 and 39 foot jumps that crowded the field headed into Friday's competition.

At the top of that field was State College's Veronika Karpenko. Karpenko was the indoor champ in the triple jump, the PA#1, and the Penn Relays champion. There was also Greensburg Salem's Julia Howard, in the midst of a strong and consistent senior season. There was also Cheltenham's Madison Langely-Walker, the District 1 champion.

But Dowingtown East junior Evelyn Berecz was on a mission after losing to Langley-Walker a week earlier at District 1 by a mere half inch. Berecz saved her best non-dual meet jump of the year for the most important meet, jumping 39-5.5 to take the win over the talented field.
