Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational (University Park, PA)

PA#4 Alison Willingmyre of Wilson started off her season with a runner up finish to University High (WV)'s Tashala Turner. Willingmyre clocked an 18:51 to take second, five ticks behind Turner, who won at 18:46. Surely, Willingmyre was looking for the win, but it's definitely a strong start to her season.

Turner and Willingmyre were well ahead of the field. Central Mountain's Alyssa Laughner took third in 20:05, another strong result for her. While Turner and Unviersity took the team win, the State College girls were second. Catherine Curtin led the way in fourth in 20:14. Gabriella Bock and Emma Simon were eighth and ninth to help State College take the title as top PA team at the meet.

State College scored 39 points in the win.

Wilson (3) was second at Spiked Shoe, led by a strong performance by Jake Underwood. He wasn't far behind the top two, clocking a 16:24 for third place. His Wilson team was impressive taking second to State College with 61 points.
