BOYS RECAP
If at first you don't succeed, try again. Those were Mark Provenzo's thoughts after coming in second to Quaker Valley's Zach Skolnekovich at the Red, White, & Blue Classic a few weeks ago. Provenzo, once again, hung on Skolnekovich for as long as he could. But the Quaker Valley senior was victorious once again, pulling off his second win of the season.
Skolnekovich clocked a 15:33 for the win to Provenzo's 15:36. It's 21 seconds faster than a year at this invite for Skolnekovich. For Provenzo, it's a huge PR of 39 seconds for the 5K distance. The arced up until the last mile where Skolnekovich was able to break free and take the win.
Quaker Valley took home the team title edging out Harbor Creek by 11 points. Harbor Creek was very strong through four with Ryan Starveggi (fifth), Aiden Weber (sixth), Christian Babo (ninth) and Jared Szklenski (20th) all placing inside the top 20. QV had an 11 2-5 gap after Skolnekovich, led by Daniel Ford and Jake Smiley.
