VIRTUAL MEET

Watch the 2015 Central League Championships below:

Five boys should be in contention for the Central League crown and it should be a close one! Springfield (Delco)'s Liam Galligan, Haverford's James Abrahams (above), Conestoga's Carlos Shultz, Lower Merion's Matthew D'Aquila, and Penncrest's Avery Lederer will all battle it out for the title.

Last week at Rose Tree Park, it was Lederer who was the top finisher at DELCOs, beating out fourth place Abrahams after Abrahams led in the early going. Galligan didn't race. Now we're back at Rose Tree this week with some (hopefully) better conditions than the rain of last week and non-DELCO runners D'Aquila and Shultz enter the fray with Galligan slated to compete this week.

D'Aquila ran well at Foundation and Paul Short, and was just slightly ahead of Shultz two weeks ago. Shultz is a freshman standout. It should be a great race, and realistically, any of these five could walk away as league champ.

In the team race, it should come down to Conestoga and Lower Merion. They placed sixth and seventh at the stacked Paul Short Run Brown Race two weeks ago, with Lower Merion finishing 22 points better. This is a smaller meet, though and that could change things. Both squads have a frontrunner, but it's depth that will win this one. Penncrest and Harriton will also look to get in the conversation for the team title.
