Wyoming Valley Conference XC Championships Recap
BOYS: The defending PIAA Class-AA champs took an important step towards their hope of repeating. The Dallas boys, led by individual champion Jack Zardecki, took the Wyoming Valley Conference title on Wednesday, scoring 32 points in the win.
Zardecki's winning time was 16:19. Berwick took the next two spots behind second place Mason Kimbell and third place Ty Fisher. Berwick ended up second in the team race with 60 points. Josh Wyandt and Jason Culp, both from Dallas, took fourth and fifth respectively.
We'll see these squads again next week at the PIAA District 2 Championships.

GIRLS: Holy Redeemer's Lindsey Williams continued her strong junior season, adding a Wyoming Valley Conference title to her resume. Williams ran 20:03 to win on Wednesday. Hazleton's Mary Everdale was second in 20:15.
Dallas, led by Megan Borton's third place finish, won the team crown with 37 points. Rebecca Balara and Madison Baloga were sixth and seventh to help Dallas to the crown. Hazleton was second followed closely by Pittston Area. Arianna Boccardi led Pittston with a fourth place overall finish.
