Plenty of Talent Set For Penn State on Saturday: Kevin Dare Invitational Preview

Girls' Sprints/Hurdles Preview

We saw something really special at Kevin Dare last winter, as Cheltenham's Chanel Brissett took down the state record in the 60-meter hurdles. It was the start of her breaking that record many times and eventually winning the state title in the event. Brissett won't be competing at Penn State this weekend, but will still get some strong talent in the sprints and hurdles this year.

Susquehanna Township's Yasmin Brooks leads the 60 hurdles field. The senior and TCU signee is PA#1 in both the 55 and 60-meter hurdles. She'll definitely be one to watch on Saturday and the hurdles won't be the only event she's entered in.

There's some strong talent in the girls' 200 meters. PA#1 Alexis Crosby of Cheltenham will lead the way,  but Brooks of Susquehanna Township will put up a good fight. Crosby's Cheltenham teammate Bria Barnes will be there, too, as will Central Bucks East's Meaghan Shewbrooks and DE#3 Maysha Foster of Appoquinimink

Marjia Allen of Susquehanna Township and Amy Domenick of Methacton are two names to watch in the girls' 60-meter dash from Pennsylvania. They'll be looking to hold off DE#2 Foster of Appoquinimink. Cheltenham's Brielle Lewis is another one that should contend with these girls.

In the 400 meters, we'll see Barnes and Crosby of Cheltenham. Crosby went sub-57 to win the quarter here last here. Coatesville's Porsha Miles will look to challenge the duo. Miles, a sophomore, has had a strong start to her indoor season that has included a PA#4 in the 400 meters and PA#3 in the 200 meters (both coming on flat tracks).
