Don Wilhour Selinsgrove Classic - Meet Recap
Reigning Class AA state champion in the javelin, Maura Fiamoncini of Mount Carmel Area began her senior season off in a big way. Fiamoncini dominated the javelin with a best throw of 145-7 to take home the win and set a new PA#1. Look for more big throws out of Fiamoncini this spring.
Shamokin Area's Alyssa Lahr won the shot put with a PA#7 throw of 38-9.75.
Selinsgrove's Megan Hoffman swept the 100 and 200 meters in a good day for her in the sprints. Hoffman ran 12.73 in the 100 and 26.33 in the 200. Selinsgrove also picked up wins in the 4x400 (4:14.86) and the 4x800 (9:57.37). Selinsgrive's Piper Klinger followed up her season-opening win at Tim Cook with another win in the discus. Klinger threw 119-6 for the win.
Mount Carmel's Nicole Varano won both the long jump and triple jump.
Marian Catholic's Tina Capparell home wins in the 1600 meters (5:29.38) and the 800 meters (2:27.93).
Selinsgrove's Keith Dreese had a big day in the throws. Dreese won the shot put with a throw of 55-3.75 and then won the discus with a heave of 158-3. His Selinsgrove teammate Brennen Wolf was second i . both events.
