Report: Noah Affolder To Miss Six Weeks

Carlisle's Noah Affolder will miss "at least the next six weeks" due to an ankle injury, PennLive's Ryan Baillargeon reports.

Affolder transferred from Carthage, New York to Carlisle High School in central Pennsylvania before the start of his senior season. In the fall, he won the PIAA Class AAA state championship in cross country. This past winter at the PTFCA Indoor State Championships, Affolder won the mile and was part of winning 4x800 and DMR teams. He was the 1600 meter leg on Carlisle's national record-setting DMR, which ran 9:56.18.

Affolder told PennLive his right ankle has been bothering him since Foot Locker Nationals on December 10. But Affolder didn't take off from training after that because he raced at the Great Edinburgh XCountry Challenge in Scotland, which he won. After that, Affolder continued training through the indoor season, which included a state record in the mile of 4:07.24 at the Millrose Games.

Affolder, a Syracuse signee, says he'd likely only run on his team's 4x800 meter relay in the postseason if he does return, according to the PennLive story.
