AA Girls' 4x100m Relay Preview
The AA 4x100 state leaders from Neumann Goretti had a lot of successes at the District 12 Champs, but one of the low points was a baton drop in the 4x100 meter relay leading to a DQ. The Saints absence at Ship in this event, along with the move of the reigning AA champs Villa Maria to AAA, will make for a different landscape this season in the relay.
Five teams entered with sub-50 second times and Hickory looks to be the favorite with the lone sub-49 second time in the field. Hickory has a wealth of talent and they'll look to get the sticks around and grab a 4x100 meter title. They were fourth last year at states.
Three District 12 squads will be among the teams chasing Hickory. Paul Robeson went 49.07 for the win, while Imhotep took second and Delaware Valley Charter was third. These teams should all put up a good fight against the District 10 champs.
Fairfield has been an impressive squad all season. They rolled to the win at the District 3 Championships, posting a 49.93. Look for them to be in contention for a high finish this weekend. Lakeview, Burrell, and Elmer L. Meyers are all teams that could make some noise with a good race at Ship.
