Today, we salute Nate Alleyne of Bishop Shanahan. Alleyne was most noted for taking home a state title in the 400 meters this past winter at the PTFCA Indoor State Championships. Alleyne edged out Miles Green with a time of 48.21. Alleyne was also apart of Shanahan's state championship-winning 4x400 meter relay. He also earned gold in the 4x4 at indoor and outdoor states with Downingtown West as a junior. Alleyne is headed to Georgetown in the fall.

Throughout the end of June and through July we we be honoring our graduating seniors. To submit your own questionnaire to be posted on the front page of PennTrackXC, check out this page and email your responses to Dan Beck (daniel.beck@flosports.tv).

What was your most memorable race/competition?
The Ches-Mont championship 200 meter prelim my freshman year. It was basically my last chance to qualify for the district meet in that event and I remember being excited to run under the lights. I managed to win my heat with a massive PR that indeed qualified me to run at districts. And that was also the moment I realized I had the potential to be great in this sport.

Where did you face your biggest competition?
AAU summer Olympics 4x4 that I anchored in a huge gap (3rd place). I ran a fast split (48.95) but didn't close the gap one bit unfortunately

Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?
Claiming my only individual state title in the 400m indoors senior year (Watch the race above!)

If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your athletic career in high school?
I don't really like these type of questions but to answer the question I would say to definitely try the jumps, primarily long or triple.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
I had to learn and am still learning how my body responds to different workloads and how to properly treat it, recover it, and prepare it, to be ready to continue training  and be ready to put down my best performance in a race

What will you miss the most?

I'll miss racing in front of my home crowd with my parents and other supporters in direct attendance. I'm especially proud of winning three indoor state titles in front of them this past season. And sharing that experience with them is one that I will forever be able to reflect on throughout my life

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Value the relationship between athlete and coach because they have your best interests in mind.

How have your coaches influenced your performances and your life goals overall?

I am grateful to have multiple coaches that care for my well being not only as an athlete but in my development as a man in the world. I want to thank them for their commitment to me.

What are your post-high school plans?

I'll be furthering my athletic and academic careers as a Hoya beginning this summer. #hoya

Shout-Outs?

Mike Riddick, James Smith and Coach Rohan Grant - I attribute them to being the first people who believed I was capable of doing great things
