D10-AA Boys - Individuals Breakdown

In a wild year for the AA boys in District 10, it was Fort Leboeuf's Jake Lehotsky that pulled out the win, pulling away late in the mud to take the individual title. With Lehotsky now graduated, who can we look to to take over as the new top dog in D10-AA?

A good bet may be the Harbor Creek duo of Ryan Starveggi and Aiden Weber. The pair, who will be juniors this fall, took second and third at districts and then earned state medals a week later. You can also throw in Christisn Babo to that equation, who was right behind those two at states. That pack will be dangerous as Harbor Creek looks to take the D10 title again, but will also make some serious noise as individuals. Expect more orange and black on the medal stand in Hershey this year.

General McLane was a surprise second place team last season. And it can thank the performances of Erik Andrzejewski and Nate Price. Andrzejewski, who will be a junior this year, pulled out a great race at districts and followed that up with a 5K PR at states to take 18th, ahead of Lehotsky and the Harbor Creek runners. Price, meanwhile, was 36th. This team knows how to peak and these two will be ones to watch this season.

Grove City had an off day at the district meet, but we can't sleep on the boys on this team this season. Tyler Quinn was the team's lone state qualifier, but we should expect more this season. Rising junior Jonah Powell collected three wins at invites leading up to districts. He'll want to get back to Hershey, and if he can, he can be a serious factor for a high finish. Quinn and Luke Owrey will be in the mix in the district. So will rising sophomore Mason Murray.

Hickory's Chad Grundy was a breakthrough performer last season. He ran a best of 16:35 and wound up fifth at districts. Look for an even bigger drop this year from Grundy. Meadville's Patrick Stevens turned some heads as only a freshman last season. Now a sophomore, Stevens will be one to watch. Franklin Area's Jacob Eshelman and the Fairview duo of Jamison Cook and Jerrod Nelson will be aiming for high finishes and state qualifying spots this season as well.
