Villa Joseph Marie's Katie Irelan rebounded from a rough start to her sophomore season to close it out well in the postseason. Irelan placed second at the AACA Championships before running away with the District 1 Class AA title last fall. She was a state medalist as a freshman, and she'll be looking to return to that medal stand this season.
Irelan led her Class of 2019-heavy team to the team title as well, capping off another solid season for VJM. Fellow rising juniors Abby Zwall and Brianna Kling will also be in line for big seasons. The pair placed third and fourth, respectively, at districts last year. Along with Camila Drobac and sophomore Lily Dineen, there should be a lot of blue coming across the line inside the top ten at districts this season.
Others to watch in D1-AA this fall include Nazareth Academy's Anna Featherstone and Ciara Dubeck, New Hope Solebury's Julia Mycek, and Upper Perkiomen's Serena Detweiler.
