XC Is Heating Up In Pennsylvania After Week 3

George School Invitational - Meet Recap

GIRLS RECAP

How's that for debuts?

Rebecca Wusinich said it's been a while since her last 5K. She looked like an experienced veteran on Saturday morning, though. The sophomore went out hard and held on, winning her first high school XC race for Friends' Central in a time of 18:54.

Wusinich held off Lenape's Alexa Woltjen, who came down from NJ to take second. Penn Charter freshman Emma Zwall was impressive, taking third in 19:18. Lawrenceville (NJ)'s Jesse Brewer was fourth in 19:20, while Germantown Academy's Isabelle Goldstein was fifth in 19:44

Scranton Prep, led by Mia Bellucci's sixth place finish, showed off some solid depth to take the win with 105 points. The Council Rock North girls took second with 114 points.

BOYS RECAP

With a little under a mile to go in the boys' race, Jeffrey Love took a look behind him, noticed his lead and he couldn't help but smile.

Love had opened up a huge lead by that point on his home course and he knew he was headed for his second win in as many weeks. Love, a senior at George School, crossed the line in 16:33 taking the win. He also won last week at the Mill Street Run in Bristol.

Germantown Friends took the next two spots with Zach Goldberg and Colin Riley. Tim Peterson added a fifth place finish. The Tigers ran away with the team title, scoring 47 points. It's a good sign that GFS is on track for another PAISAA title, despite the graduation of Nick Dahl and Jonnie Plass.

Westtown's Ryan O'Donnell took fourth in 16:54.
