A monster throw solicited a roar from the crowd that caught the ear and attention of the track crowd in the distance. His 15-03 was the best of the meet as other talented athletes even no-heighted. It was a double-double for the Kings. Gateway sprinter Justin King posted the 11.03, 22.52 100-200 double. And Kevin King (no relation) of Connellsville did the middle distance double, going 50.61 and 1:58.15. Somerset\'s Jarad Stern won the Discus with a throw of 155-04. In other girls competition, Elyse Goode of Ambridge took the 100 and 200 in 12.21 and 25.39. A fast 400 from Katie Orchowski of Upper St. Clair (57.9). Five girls were under 61. Upper St. Clair\'s 4x800 looked strong in 9;46.57. A state best of 37-10 in the Triple Jump from Baldwin\'s Jordan Veney (who also took the Discus with a throw of 122-05. And sophomore pole vaulteer Alexandra Acker (another former gymnast-turned pole vaulter) cleared 11-06 for the win.
