State Rankings Rewritten In Staten Island: Ocean Breeze Invitational Recap

Ocean Breeze Invitational - Girls (Sunday) Meet Recap

Davies keeps rolling; Lanouette moves up

Thelma Davies of Girard College proved once again on Sunday what we already pretty much knew: she's unstoppable. Competing in just the 200 meters, Davies rolled to the win in a time of 24.14 in the finals, which included just two other girls.

Neumann Goretti's Sydni Townsend took second in PA#3 time of 24.94. Coatesville's Porsha Miles ran a PA#4 25.14 in the prelims. The Saints also dropped a PA#3 time of 1:41.63 in the 4x200 meter relay to grab the win.

Grace Lanouette of Conestoga ran some quick times in some high profile races, but was yet to score a win. That changed on Sunday, as the senior ran away with the 55 meter win at Ocean Breeze, clocking a new PA#2 time of 7.07.

400m showdown; Warren wins 2

The 400 meters proved to be one of the day's best races four of the top state times coming in the one event. Cheltenham's Alexis Crosby went 56.09, a new PA#2, for the win. Her teammate Bria Barnes came across second in 56.28. Neumann Goretti's Mykala Perry was third in a PA#4 56.45. Talitha Diggs of Saucon Valley won her heat in 57.61, a new PA#5 time. Townsend's 55.99 still leads the state, but the 400 is becoming one of the most intriguing events in the state right now.

Perkiomen Valley's Christina Warren won the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 8.05, just .05 off her own PA#1 in the event. She came back to win the triple jump with a leap of 39-6, capping off yet another strong weekend for the junior.

Gardizy and Forbes drop quick times

North Penn's Ariana Gardizy continues to drop quick times in the distance events. Already PA#3 in the 3K, Gardizy went after the mile on Sunday. She earned the win in 4:59.68 from the second heat, becoming just the third girl in PA under 5 this season. Cardinal O'Hara's Elizabeth Mancini took fourth in a PA#9 time of 5:10.81.

North Penn also ran a PA#4 in the 4x800 meter relay to win in 9:43.26 to take the win. Penn Charter was second in a PA#6 time of 9:46.63.

Strath Haven's Grace Forbes continued her impressive season. She's already apart of Haven's talented distance relay, but on Sunday she placed second in the 800 meters in a time of 2:15.08 for a PA#2. Christine Mancini of O'Hara took sixth overall in a PA#6 time of 2:17.56 in an event that reshaped the state 800 meter rankings.
