Honorable Mention
Boys -
The boys 800m could be interesting, as Alfred Chawonza (St. Benedict's Prep, NJ) takes on NY State 600m runner-up Nico Bellavia (Victor). Ben Bulkeley (Fairport) also makes an appearance and should provide a good meeting, down from the 1000m.
Girls -
The Steeplechase has the potential to be the sleeper event of the meet. Sarah Trainor (FDR) lead the field, and the country at 6:47.64 , while that's not uncharted territory for Mary Hennelly (Suffern), who carries a best of 6:46.84. Brooke Rauber (Tully) also selected this as her only race of the weekend, and could be ready to dip well under 7mins too. Both Aziza Chigatayeva (Brooklyn Tech) and Haleigh Morales (North Rockland) have already been under last year, and will look to get there again.
Another HM would be the Girls DMR, if only because Saratoga is entered. They're the reigning Penn Relays Champs, and Indoor National Runner's Up. Depending on the lineup Ursuline has, this could get close, and Chmiel will need to save some energy for what's to come later in the weekend.
