Lakeview rising senior Fawn Miller and recent Central Dauphin grad Justin Shirk are the 2009 Gatorade Players of the Year for Pennsylvania. Shirk is the first back-to-back winner since Norristown's Ernie Terrell in 2000 and 2001. That makes three of the past five years that a Central Dauphin athlete has been so honored - Ryan Whiting won the award in 2005. Miller and Shirk hold the all-time PA bests with the new javelin - 167-2 by Miller in 2008, and a 235-3 by Shirk this year. Shirk's throw is the #3 all-time by a high schooler.
