6/27-7/4 WKND: USATF World Youth: Lavong wins LJ, Miller wins Jav, and Nugent 3rd in 400H.

 

 

On day 2 Carlton Lavong redeemed himself in the long jump with a winning leap of 23-11.50, punching his ticket to the World Youth Champs in Italy.  Fawn Miller cracked 150 feat again this year, winning the Javelin throw with a toss of 153-02, and will be joining Carlton in Italy.  Leah Nugent finished 2nd in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:01.40, but may not be competing in Italy. And South Park rising senior Trevor Barron, competing against himself, went 13:00.93 in the 3000m RW and is headed to the world meet, as well.

 

Leah Nugent was the top qualifier out of the prelims in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:00.95.  Carlton Lavong finished 3rd in the triple jump with a mark of 47-03.50. Courtney Kedra, Phoenixville, was 8th in the long jump, going 17-09.50.
