For Josh Lewis, there haven't been any weekends off from racing this season.
There also haven't been any weekends off from winning. The North East senior traveled north and out-of-state to Rochester, New York for Saturday's McQuaid Invitational. He came back to Pennsylvania with his fifth win in five weeks.
Lewis covered the 3 mile course in 15:12, beating second place by 28 seconds. It continues a steep progression that Lewis has exhibited on the McQuaid 3 mile course over the last four years of his career. This particular year was a 44 second and six place improvement since last season.
Lewis has already won this season at McDowell, West Middlesex, Boardman (Ohio), and Hershey. He added another gold to his resume this weekend.
The Seeded A race was crowded with PA squads. North East took second in the team race, behind winners Beaver River (NY). Elk County Catholic, paced by Ben Hoffman's fourth place finish in 15:45 was fourth, followed closely by Montrose, which took fifth led by Liam Mead's seventh place finish. John Koons of Notre Dame-Green Pond was sixth.
