Southwest PA - It\'s the WPIAL qualifiers! West Mifflin delivered a 42.0 message over 400 meters early in the week at the WPIAL Qualifiers in District 7. Notably absent from the qualifying list were Andrew Johnson, North Hills, and defending state champ in the 100; and Elyse Goode of Ambridge. Johnson won his qualifier in Butler, but was apparently accidentally left off the 100 list. He did move on in the 200. We\'re awaiting official word. And Goode never recovered from a quad injury, which occurred in the Mars Invitational. She was last year\'s state runner-up in the 100 and 3rd in the 200. Mike Booth, West Mifflin, moved on in the 1600. Ian Fitzgerald, North Hills, will apparently focus on the 3200 at States. Butler\'s Calvin Littlejohn moved on in the High, Long and Triple Jumps. Valley junior Mycaiah Clemons is set in the 100 Hurdles and 200. Pretty fierce competition in the 400 for AAA girls as 11 went under 60 seconds. Erica Moody, Oakland Catholic, had the fastest qualifier at 57.1. She also moved on in the 200. Bev Rogers, Ringgold, is gearing up for a battle at states after a 144-11 Javelin.
