Today, we salute Kate Willshaw of Easton Area
Willshaw proved to be one of the state's most consistent high jumpers over the past few seasons, racking up state medals and big performances in the process. She was a two-time outdoor state medalist in Class AAA, placing sixth in 2018 and seventh in 2019. Indoors, she was a state medalist three times: third in 2017, seventh in 2018, and fourth in 2019.
She jumped her personal best of 5-8 on a number occasions, twice indoors and once outdoors. She was frequently clearing heights over five and half feet.

What was your most memorable race/competition?
An Ocean Breeze meet when I jumped my personal best.
Where did you face your biggest competition?
Nationals
If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your athletic career in high school?
I wouldn't change anything because I wouldn't be where I am today.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
Having confidence in myself, knowing that I can do it.
What will you miss the most?
My coach and teammates.
Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
Be confident, and always keep your head up.
How have your coaches influenced your performances and your life goals overall?
They are great role models and showed me that they are always so supportive and will help you with anything.
What are your post-high school plans?
