Individuals Preview

Last fall, Noah Bradley took a close second place finish to the D12-A individual champ and his Masterman teammate Stephen Njiru. Njiru has graduated, so now Bradley will look to move to the district's top spot this fall. He was 107th at states last year and could be looking to improve upon that this season as well.

Masterman's Hayden Keller, Owen MossAdam Gizis, and Tobias Beidler-Shenk all return with best times just under 19 or in the low-19 range. Expect those boys to battle for spots inside the top 5 at the district meet.

GAMP's Christopher Sylvester, the Devon Prep duo of Jack Samms and Max Mongiello, and the Philadelphia Military Academy at Elverson's Adam McAvoy all return from the top 10 in the district from last year. It should be a very competitive battle for those limited state qualfiying spots for non-team individuals this season.

Team Preview

Masterman will once again be the team to beat in D12-A this season. After winning its seventh straight district crown last fall, Masterman will look to make it eight-in-a-row in October, and once again they will be the favorites.

Masterman returns five of seven from a team that put in full varsity squad inside the top 15 at the district meet last year. Bradley, Keller, Gizis, and Beidler-Shenk make a strong top 4. Each placed in the top 10 last year at districts and return this season.

Devon Preparatory School made its District 12 debut last season and came away with a state qualifying berth, earning the second of two spots. Six of seven return from a team that mixes veterans and young runners. DP should be in the mix for a top two spot once again this season with Samms and Mongiello leading the way.

GAMP, which was third last year, should be a factor again this season, along with Science Leadership Academy at Beeber and Motivation. Those teams will hope to challenge Devon for that states spot.
