Watch Neumann Goretti Drop A US No. 1 4x800

There was little time wasted getting the action going at the PTFCA Indoor State Championships.

The morning started off with a bang in the girls 4x800 meter relay, with the nation's three fastest times coming in the meet's first event.

It was the Neumann Goretti girls that pulled out the victory, with the Saints dropping a US No. 1 time of 9:04.76, to win the event for a second straight season. That time is the third fastest time in Pennsylvania state history indoors, behind only NG's state record of 9:02.17 set last winter and North Penn's 9:03.35 from 2017.

It was a terrific race, with the Saints outlasting Friends' Central, which clocked a US No. 2 of 9:09.19 for second and Central Bucks West running a US No. 3 of 9:12.05 for third. Pennridge took fourth in a US No. 6 time of 9:15.54.

The Saints' quartet consisted of Kimberly Johnson, Mykala Perry, Sherisse Peterson, and Kami Joi Hickson.

It all came down to the anchor leg with Neumann Goretti and Friends' Central handing off at virtually the same time. FCS's anchor leg Miracle Price took it out hard, gapping NG's anchor Hickson. But Hickson reeled in Price, closing well with an F.A.T. split of 2:11.08 to capture the victory for Neumann Goretti.

Later in the day, Neumann Goretti would run a US No. 4 time of 3:50.09 to win the 4x400 meter relay. The Saints will chase after national titles in both the 4x8 and 4x4 in two weeks at New Balance Nationals Indoor.
