This weekend would have brought us the Pennsylvania Track Classic, one of the first major meets of the outdoor season in Pennsylvania. With the coronavirus pandemic postponing the start of the season, we won't get to see that action at Plymouth-Whitemarsh this weekend.
So instead, let's look back on last season's PA Track Classic when we got a great battle in the girls' 300 meter hurdles.
It turned into a three girl race down the stretch with MLK's Shynera Dorin, Chester's Jiya Clayton, and Penn Wood's Elicia Moore racing for the win. Clayton had the advantage over the final hurdle, bur Dorin stormed back in the closing meters to claim the victory in a time of 45.66. Clayton was second by a hair in 45.68. Moore wasn't far behind, placing third in 45.97.
PLACE | ATHLETE | TEAM | RESULT | WIND | H# | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Shynera Dorin | 12 | Martin Luther King HS | 45.66 | 3 | |||
2 | Jiya Clayton | 10 | Chester | 45.68 | 3 | |||
3 | Elicia Moore | 12 | Penn Wood | 45.97 | 3 | |||
4 | Talitha Diggs | 11 | Saucon Valley | 47.17 | 3 | |||
5 | Sierra Williams | 11 | Southern Lehigh | 47.54 | 3 |
It's action like that that we miss most right now. While the season is on hold for now, we can always look back and remember these times and great races.
